News

New Premises

The practice would like to thank everybody that has made working at the Cottage Hospital possible. Thank you for sticking with us over the past 3 years. As you might have seen in the press we hope to be moving to new premises in mid 2013. These will be on the site of where The Mount residential home was at the eastern entrance to St George's Park Hospital. We are lucky in the difficult financial climate that the Care Trust has secured funding for this building that we will share with Greystoke Surgery and Northumbria Care Trust that will provide physiotherapy, radiology and outpatient services. We hope to be able to continue with the good things that people like about the practice(see patient survey section of the website) and hopefully improve in other areas.

Retirement: Dr Colver has now retired. At the practice we would llike to thank her for all her work over the past 20 or so years. She will be missed by all at the practice and we wish her well in her retirement which we are sure will be as busy as when she was working. Dr Colver reduced her workload in the past 2 years and we have planned for her retirement by increasing other practitioners' hours. Dr Colver is irreplaceable but we hope to offer the same number of appointments as we have done over the years!

Parking: We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in applying for further parking at Morpeth Cottage Hospital.  Additional car parking spaces are now available for patients - there is no charge to park within the Hospital Grounds.

Established at the turn of the century, we are the smallest practice in Morpeth, our aim being to combine a high standard of medical care with a friendly and personal service.  Disabled access to the surgery is via the main hospital entrance (automated door entry system).  Please inform a member of staff if you have problems accessing our services and we will do everything we can to improve the situation. 

The surgery is open 8.00 am - 6 pm Monday to Friday.  Routine appointments are available during the hours listed below. To see a doctor or nurse please telephone us or come into the surgery to book an appointment. For those patients registered with EMIS Access you can book GP appointments from your computer at home or at work www.patient.co.uk.
